Location Location Location

There are many variables that you need to consider before you decide on a permanent or even a temporary location when considering a move to LA or even just a visit. One of the most important factors to think about if you’re really thinking about moving to LA is finding a place in close proximity to that first great job or any job for that matter. Remember, rush hour traffic in Los Angeles can easily turn an 11 hour day into a 14 hour day. Living in Venice Beach and working in Burbank will consume most of your free time and patience by the end of your daily commuting week! You won’t be a fun roommate and your social life will suffer. Once you get a better idea of the surrounding areas after awhile you can than venture further away from an employer. If you’re just gonna be visiting Los Angeles, use these special LA Maps we’ve created to get a better idea of the local neighborhoods in this vast metropolis we call La La Land.

where is silver lakeWhere is Silver Lake >> Map It Here <<

.

Since the 1990s, Silver Lake has become the center of the alternative and indie rock scene in Los Angeles. The neighborhood is home to two major street festivals each year, the Silver Lake Jubilee, held in May and the Sunset Junction Street Fair, held in August. Since the indie rock music scene is particularly prominent in this neighborhood, comparisons are often drawn between Silver Lake and New York City’s Williamsburg district. As a result, it is sometimes referred to as the “Williamsburg of the West”. The area is lively, and the mix of young people, hip bars and restaurants makes for an excellent place to live if you like to go out and be social and grungy. There is a beach vibe, without the beach, and you have quick access to other parts of Los Angeles without having to go through many of the rush hour traffic zones.
