DucksMainNot Unlike The Ming Dynasty of the 1600’s, the Laker’s Dynasty of the Late 90’s and that Tv Series Dynasty in the 80’s, all good things must come to an end. Or in this case, implode on itself in such a fashion, many people may be left scratching their hillbilly beards and wondering why in the hell was I watching this crap show in the first place.

In case you missed it, Phil Robertson, the family patriarch was quoted in a recent interview with GQ magazine making anti-gay remarks. Remarks that are so severe I think they will cause the down fall of one of Tv’s most watched shows in A&E’s history.  I wonder which advertiser will jump ship first. At least have the intelligence God supposedly gave to you to wait till after the holidays. You can’t walk by an aisle end-cap in any store these days without being forced to look at those 3 hillbilly’s hocking some piece of merchandise. Good luck selling that crap now!

Good bye duck whistle, duck t-shirt, duck hat, duck book, duck mug, duck chia pet and my favorite, duct tape. That’s right, these idiots have their faces on Duct Tape Rolls. Maybe Mr. Robertson should of used some of that trade-marked tape and taped his f’ing mouth shut.

Back to the tree-blinds you go my 3 amigos. Where no one will ever see or hear your dumb-asses again. The only Duck I want to see or hear from this day forward on TV is from the cute little duck that says Afflaaacck…

If your goal as an unknown band, solo artist, or singer/songwriter Is to write a great song or songs, record a demo and “shop it” to record labels with the hopes of getting a deal, you’re wasting your money.  That ship has sailed long ago; whether you like it or not, or want to believe it or not, that business model is over.  Listen, you MUST understand that major label record companies haven’t been “developing” talent for quite some time.  They are not going to develop you either.  No matter how good your song is.  Of course there are record deals out there but the rules have changed significantly and you need to know what the labels will and won’t do so you can avoid wasting time being naïve.

If you’re gonna play, BE A STUDENT OF THE GAME, not a hopeful marginally talented moron; that’s so yesterday.

To get your deal, you will have to do most of the heavy lifting; you will be responsible for your own development. To get your deal, you will have to understand the way the old record business worked so you can effectively eliminate that outdated approach from your business plan and recognize the structure of the new record business.  This is MISSION CRITICAL if you truly want to succeed as an artist today.

So let’s review the old way so we can

Gambling and the casino appeal to both celebs and the general public alike. This seems rather unlikely given the fact that many of these celebs have multi-million pound bank accounts and glamorous lifestyles, but it appears that we are all subject to the lure of gambling.

indexCasinos such as the Palms, Caesars and the Borgata are all likely to get celebs coming through the doors at one time or another. Celebrity Poker tournaments have seen the likes of Matthew Perry and Ben Affleck take part. Matt Damon regularly pays visits to the casino as does Demi Moore, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.

Vegas has had numerous visits from stars of the silver screen, and Brad Pitt and George Clooney once invested money in a casino. It might seem crazy that people with their money still have an interest in the gambling industry, but it appears that the thrill associated with a wager has a certain universal appeal.

Over here in the UK we see a lot of

As the story from the LA Times goes, starlet Lana Turner caught the eye of a casting agent at a soda fountain. He believed the 16-year-old had “it,” and asked if she would like to be in pictures.

A similar but more modern discovery was made when a talent scout spotted a 14-year-old Jennifer Lawrence strolling through New York’s Union Park and encouraged her to consider modeling or acting, as the New York Daily News reported.

new smart phone introduction before exhibition startsIf we knew how and when, we’d tell you exactly where to go and who will be there so you can someday be someone else’s crazy and inspiring show biz story. And then maybe next week’s Powerball numbers while we’re at it. Unfortunately, things rarely work out this nicely, and most of us with big dreams still must pound the pavement in search of a magical connection with a director, a producer or someone involved in casting to hopefully get hired for something meaningful.

Where can I watch the Chicago Bears Game in L.A. ?

The Bears have a huge following in this town. There are at least 4 bars that I know of personally, but the biggest 2 are Tin Horn Flats in Burbank and O’Briens in Santa Monica on Main St. Tin Horn Flats is know down winner as fan enthusiast go. A dive bar with charm this place requires you to get their at least an hour before game time to try and get the remaining seats that are not reserved by longtime locals. If you can get in, you won’t forget the experience. It’s the one on Ventura Blvd in North Hollywood not the one downtown Hollywood. O’Briens is an Irish Bar just off the beach in Santa Monica and has the capacity to welcome you with open arms, so if you’re in the neighborhood check them out. Not to be confused with the O’Brien’s on Wilshire Blvd, that’s a Giants Bar.

Where can I watch the New England Patriots Game in L.A. ?
